DewEngine has no paid production service, WhatsApp adapter, plan, billable unit, trial, allowance, fee, or support commitment. Scraping, provider-control evasion, and anti-detection are not cost strategies and remain excluded. This research treats cost as a full-system question and makes no savings claim. Count engineering and operations, not only provider usage

A direct official integration can give a team close control, but its cost model includes application review, onboarding, secret management, message policy, webhook ingestion, idempotency, quota handling, support tools, monitoring, incident response, and lifecycle maintenance. Those activities may be worthwhile for a focused product. Estimation should record internal ownership and ongoing change work without assuming that an external platform automatically eliminates every provider-specific responsibility.

Value reuse only where the abstraction is proven

Shared account, command, event, webhook, credential, and support infrastructure can reduce repeated work across channels. A model should include duplicates, retries, dead letters, reconciliation, and reserved revocation capacity so reliability work does not appear as unexplained billable traffic.

Include migration, export, and provider ownership

A scalable alternative should preserve native identifiers, make capability and account ownership visible, provide export, and document what happens on cancellation or provider-policy change. Customers need to understand whether they control the provider application and sender assets, how grants are revoked, and how long data remains. Lower implementation effort is not a durable saving if the product cannot reconcile invoices, recover from failure, or leave without losing operational context.
